Would that mean these are from 2006? Stickers on the back don't look that new though. Won't have a chance to really compare and use them with my Denon AVR till next week.įor Klipsch fans, they are non-consecutive serial numbers, 0622000030. Just got back - though I'm with family for the holidays and not at home - and I have just set them up. So I "jump in it," as the rich Russian guy on the DirectTV ads said. I figured that was a nice deal, so long as they didn't show signs of having been poorly handled. Well this morning I saw someone in CT selling a pair of RF-3 II's (same spec as mine, best I can tell) for $300, and then right after that, somebody in Brooklyn looking to unload some RF-5's, also for $300. Well as I remarked in another, now buried, thread, I recently noticed there was an imbalance, and I suspect the tweeter in one of them has started to go, even though my unscrewing and eyeballing the parts didn't show anything obviously wrong.Īnyhow, I've been diligently looking for Klipsch stuff on craigslist, both near my residence in Philly, and in CT, where my family is and where I'm from, and NYC, and other points in between. Inexpensive but workmanlike, and I suspect the Klipsch sound meshes well with my longstanding preference for a slightly brighter, forward sound. I've owned a set of Klipsch RF-3 floorstanding loudspeakers for about a decade and have been very happy with them.
